    March is Red Cross Month

    Clara Barton founded the American Red Cross on May 21, 1881, and since then the Red Cross has worked to serve people in need. President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared the month of March as Red Cross month in 1943, and each succeeding president has continued that tradition.

    325th SFS MWD: Strengthened through adversity

    In October of 2018, Tyndall Air Force Base and the surrounding community were ravaged by a Category 5 hurricane. Anticipating the extreme danger and destruction awaiting the base, Tyndall personnel were evacuated and scattered across the southeast looking for safe haven. They waited for the storm to pass, not knowing what they would return to, or if they’d be able to return at all.

    Within mere days of the Category 5 hurricane that hit Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, employees from the 325th Training Support Squadron rushed from their hunkered down shelters and evacuation points to assess and mitigate damage to more than $75 million in assets while taking care of their own homes and communities.

  • Tyndall AFB stands up Air Traffic Control Tower

    Tyndall Air Force Base has stood up the base Air Traffic Control tower for the first time since Hurricane Michael damaged the facility in October 2018. Airmen have been working from a temporary facility since the storm, but have now moved into an updated facility where they will be able to serve the air traffic needs of the base at full capacity.
