Tyndall Senior Master Sgt. Dale E. Goods, 325th Maintenance Operations Squadron maintenance training flight superintendent, earned the Maintenance Staff Professional of the Year award in the senior NCO category during the 2012 Maintenance and Staff Professionals of the Year banquet in Hangar 1 March 15.

The Chicago, Ill., native said it was an honor to receive the award. It is given to recognize the performance of an individual who makes the most substantial contributions to the group's mission.

"We have some razor-sharp senior NCOs in the maintenance group and to be selected for this was again a great honor," said Sergeant Goods. "But I could not have done it without the hard working personnel I have in the maintenance training flight. They are the ones that really make things happen."

Sergeant Goods has been in the Air Force for almost 22 years and has worked in security forces, in the education and training manager career field, and as of 2011 is the training manager in a maintenance group and squadron.

His favorite part about his job is the professional development of the personnel in the maintenance training flight and working with the training managers on Tyndall.

"Doing what I can to help make them better NCOs and senior NCOs and in turn seeing them help others to develop into better leaders. That's the best!"

The MPOY banquet recognizes the achievements of the maintenance group and honors maintenance professionals each year.

The original maintenance professional award was established in 1979 to recognize outstanding performance of direct, sortie-producing maintenance specialists. Support, training and staff personnel make vital contributions to effective sortie production. Tyndall recognizes these important professionals in their diversified career fields.
