Wright 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Team Tyndall recognized Mrs. Stacey Hale as Category I Civilian of the Year during a ceremony at the 2012 Annual Awards Banquet Feb. 20. "I am completely surprised by this award," Mrs. Hale said. "I truly appreciate the nomination! Being the Team Tyndall civilian of the year for my category is an enormous honor for me. I think about the total force, all the men and women both near and far who diligently fulfill their responsibilities out of pure love for their country. I am fortunate to be counted among these amazing men and women, and I admire their efforts when I regard these types of awards." Mrs. Hale works as the secretary to the 82nd Aerial Targets Squadron commander. "Stacey Hale is the glue that helps hold Team Target together," said Lt. Col. Lance Wilkins, 82nd ATRS commander. "Every document that leaves the squadron on its way to the group, wing or major command is meticulously reviewed for content, accuracy and format by Mrs. Hale." Mrs. Hale's work at the 82nd ATRS began almost three years ago. "I respect my squadron and our unique mission, and I appreciate our team members," the Tarpon Springs, Fla. native said. "My goal each day is to exceed expectations, and I believe all members of Team Target do the same." While working toward her masters degree and volunteering more than 1,000 hours to organizations, Mrs. Hale expertly managed $6.5 million in funding for mission critical items, revamped the squadron's record keeping program and more in addition to her regular duties, according to the award nomination package. "The reason that Stacey is deserving of this award is simple...she is in a class all her own," Colonel Wilkins said. "Additionally, her inputs to the monthly squadron newsletter, social events, and consistent attempts to create an atmosphere of unity through communication greatly aid the 82d ATRS leadership team in the accomplishment of squadron goals and mission focus areas. Finally, her volunteer spirit is inspiring and she positively impacts the squadron, base and community in innumerable ways." Base Annual Award winners will go on to compete at the Air Combat Command level. Common Access Card holders can see additional photos from the event by clicking here.
