With cold and flu season in full swing, it is more important than ever for active duty servicemembers to be aware of the steps to take in quickly obtaining an appointment at the base clinic.

From 6:30 to 7 a.m., weekdays, Airman can call (850) 283-2778. This 30 minute period is allotted for active duty only to receive same-day appointments.

If appointments are not available, patients will be given a telephone consult with a nurse.

After clinic hours, Airman may call (850) 283-2778 and speak to an on-call provider. After assessing symptoms, the provider may offer home health advice or determine whether to send a patient to a local emergency room or an urgent care facility.

It is important to recognize early signs of a cold or flu and call the clinic immediately to be assessed.
